Inspiration is everywhere; knowing how to harness and integrate it, that’s the fun part. I have always loved the details in things, taking a closer look, finding something you hadn’t noticed at first. And I really enjoy getting the time to experiment and add to my portfolio pieces. I try to create something new whenever I can.
Every illustration I create always starts life with music and an underlying text, maybe a memory, something that makes me smile. Multiple influences are drawn; coloured, moved about, kept or dismissed maybe hundreds of times, before you get that buzz; that feeling of yes, that’s it!
This illustration called “A Work in Progress” visualises my working process while suggesting that I live in an illustrated world and the hand drawn text adds to the imaginary nonsense. I’m no longer sure, if this is finished or unfinished.
