“I’m an illustrator currently living and working in Hull. I split my time between freelance illustration projects and also creating promotional material for local events or businesses.

The first poster design was created for a blues night at a local cafe, they really wanted a soulful feel that tied into the American south so I spent a lot of time experimenting with colours and text. The second poster was created abit more playfully for a local music and arts festival. They wanted a sense of adventure and exploration at the same time as the fun and celebration that a festival involves, the hand drawn text definately helped create this type of atmosphere.

My animal alphabet work developed from a commission of someone wanting their children s names illustrating. My initial though was that i wanted to avoid the usual animals children are taught about and try to expand their awareness of other animals, especially with younger children including the animal phonemes so they can learn to pronounce them. I ended up enjoying  drawing the animals so much I’ve carried on illustrating text with them as a sort side project that has proved quite popular.”
