This week we want to introduce you to Kellie Lock, who can also be found on Facebook, and her degree in Photography – the pieces that she’s captured are in a world of their own, capturing the real detail behind Jacob’s lifestyle…
I’m currently working on my Photography FMP at Coventry University. My body of work will be exhibited as part of INSITE; a collective of thirty-six emerging photographers in the final year of the BA Photography degree at Coventry University. The INSITE exhibition will showcase our photographic work, taking place at the Box Gallery at FarGo Village, from the 27th of May to the 2nd of June, as part of the Coventry University Degree Show.
My body of work “Eat. Sleep. Train. Repeat.” is a portrait project documenting the life of young bodybuilder Jacob Bradley. Doors become unlocked; as eyes are open to the lifestyle he leads from behind the eyes of the ‘gym’ and into his personal space. The body of work aims to expose the ‘truths’ behind Jacob’s lifestyle consisting on an array of elements that contribute to achieving his ‘ideal’ body form.
Jacob has had to deal with a huge amount of difficulties and emotional strains and set backs along the way. Such as dramatic lifestyle changes from the amount of food he eats, change in diet, change in training, negative views from others and the pain and stress he deals with mentally and physically through what he is putting his body through to achieve his ‘ideal’.
